Timing chain

Timing chain
Hey all, I have an '07 G35x and I was driving back to KC from Iowa this past weekend when my car lost considerable power and running and shifting rough. I managed to make it home and the next day did some investigating on what the problem was (SES, VDC Off, Slip) and found on the this website and multiple others that is was more than likely the camshaft position sensor . Bought two and replaced both but no fix. Got a scanning tool and that had the same diagnosis (Bank 2). Bought another sensor thinking maybe the 1st one was bad but still no fix. So I took it to the shop yday and they pulled a sparkplug and the right side of the engine had 150 PSI and the left side had 30 PSI. They think the timing chain jumped or slipped and threw off time on the left side. My question is if I take it somewhere and get it timed back up will it be ok and back to normal. I am still able to drive to work, albeit quite slow, as I don't have a far drive (10 mins) and it is not making any knocking sounds or ticking. What do you all think? Otherwise they are saying a new motor for $4k.

Get a second opinion about the compression test. Jumping one tooth won't lower compression that much, jumping multiple teeth is INCREDIBLY unlikely.
Also, low compression and engine malfunctions aren't going to trigger the SLIP/VDC stuff... that's traction control related and in almost no way related to engine function.
Edit: just re-read and it did throw the SES light, exactly what code was it throwing.

P0345, bank 2 intake cam phase sensor malfunction.
This will definitely cause your engine to run terrible, if it runs at all. That code isn't from the timing being off, that code is saying the engine is not receiving correct data (or no data) from that sensor.
The factory sensors do fail, typically at 100k miles or above, these engines are NOTORIOUS for not working with aftermarket sensors, you have to replace it with either an OEM Genuine Nissan Parts, or a Hitachi because they were the manufacturer for the OEM sensors.
This picture was made for the rev-up engine but the codes are the same for the VQ35HR, you will need to use a different sensor part number though, it's Nissan part number 23731-JA11B for all 4 sensors on your VQ35HR engine, don't know the Hitachi part number.
