Vdc off - slip

Rear tires are done. Was on a long trip, and pulled over , shut the engine off, lights disappeared. Did this about 3-4 times before I just left the lights on.

Can they trigger VCD off & Slip if they think the car is spinning out or if the difference between tire sizes is significant enough.

The car drives normally, other than a bit of wobble due to the worn tires.

Start by checking your brake fluid level, that's the usual culprit.

I'm kind of suspicious about there being a 3% difference front/rear just from worn tires.

Go down to a parts house with a scanner that does ABS/TCS/traction control codes (they start with a C####) and see what code pulls up. There's like 50 different possible codes.

Things like ABS wheel sensors, yaw sensor, ABS valve block sensors (there's like 12 just for the valve block), or the relay. These are the things that cause the SLIP/VDC system to display like that.

In the meantime I would turn the system off manually by flipping the switch on the dash. That way if it were to turn on it won't cause anything unexpected while you're driving.

Great idea. Manually turn off VDC ! Thanks for your reply Cleric.

I'll go ahead and top up the brake fluid.

One tire was about 30 psi , while the other 3 were 40 ! Re-adjusted this morning to 33 psi .

I'll go get it scanned on Monday and get some tires because they're desperately needed anyways.

The car has wobble / vibration from the seat (rear tire) going up to 105 Kmh (65 Mph) but it disappears as soon as I hit 110 (68 Mph) so I know there's a balance issue.

Yeah if it was just tire pressure being off it would simply turn on the TPMS tire indicator. If you want to be SUPER SAFE about disabling the VDC system (since I think it turns itself back on every time you start the car, not sure though) you can unplug the harnesses from the ABS relay. It's the big black box with 3 harnesses right in front of the brake booster/ABS valve block.

Then there is no possible way the system can function, and the whole system is effectively defeated, plus the VDC box will see the relay is disabled. Just be aware this method will introduce more trouble codes to the system which might make troubleshooting more difficult especially if the relay is what failed and is causing the code

Break fluid was OK . Zero loss no leaks.

Buying tires in the morning.

Could bad (or low) front and rear diff fluid or transfer case fluid trigger VCD off & Slip .

I drove yesterday all day below 75 Kmh (47 mph) with the system on with zero triggers.

Seems it's only highway related.

That's odd lol. Does your car track perfectly straight going down the road?

Yes it tracks perfect for the most part.

Picked up new tires this morning. Problem seems solved so far.
