I have problem with the passenger side window.
2007 G35S sedan.

First, I had the plastic switch for the passenger window on the drivers side pop out. Ordered a new drivers side switch panel for the windows but had not put it in yet.

Then Thursday my wife rolled down the passenger side window from the passenger seat. It went down but would not come back up.

Thinking the broken switch was the issues I replaced the drivers side window controls with the newly shipped part.

Everything went well for a while all windows worked except the passenger window would not go into all the way down or up mode. Tried the reset procedure but that did not fix it.

Later, the passenger window problem is back. It goes down but will not come up. Get a little clicking like sound.

If I turn off the car and restart the window comes up some but not all the way. A couple times doing that gets the window all the way up. Which is where I have left it.

So is this a bad passenger side motor? All because the plastic switch broke over a week ago?

Sounds like a bad window motor.

 

FYI on the passenger window.

Turns out the motor was fine. The window rails needed a good cleaning. Once that was done an some dry-lube was added to the rails the window worked fine.

So the changing out the broken driver-side window controls was just a coincidence.

 

Throwing parts at a problem is never smart.

Simple stuff first.
