Wont accelerate normally after heavy rain, advice is appreciated.
Joelton, TN. We received about three inches of rain in 30mins. Before that it ran great, but after, she entered the road way and was unable to accelerate. Staying at a low rpm while fully depressing the pedal. She returned home, called me. took it out as soon as i returned home. It idled and would rev normally while in park or neutral, though as soon as you positioned the shifter in drive or reverse it wouldn't rev past 2300rpm. Barely getting to 55mph in 3/4 mile on a level road. Also the brake lights wont cut off acting as if the brake pedal is never released.
Now it's been almost two weeks, I've checked the fuses in the engine bay, and the driver side fuse box, replacing only one fuse, with no avail. The rubber boot covering the harness next to the IPDM, closest to the windshield, wasn't covered properly. (Thanks previous owner.) I'm sure the water damage is on that area of the car. It hasn't rained since but still same issues, (figured it would've dried after driving it 3miles twice a day).
Any advice would be tremendously appreciated, especially after she warped our only other vehicle's, intake manifold a week before this happened.
Thank you.

maybe your brake pedal stopper went bad and the ecu thinking the brakes are on wont let it rev up? seems like it should still let it rev more than what you're experiencing tho.
It wasn't the switch/plunger but it was the plastic plate it pressed against, connected to the pedal.
The black piece snapped, and left a hole, and because the car thought i was pressing the brake and the gas simultaneously, It ran in, " Limp mode". (As it was called)
Thanks for your help though, hopefully this will be easier to find for the next guy.
