Intelligent key issue
Hi,
I recently changed the key battery on my intelligent key. It worked completely fine for a few days; however, now when I try to open or lock it by pressing the unlock/lock button, it causes the panic alarm to go off. Other times, it only causes the xenon lights to flash for about 30 seconds without actually unlocking or locking the doors. I have been unlocking the car by using the door button or by using the metal key. Other than that, it turns on without being in the Intelligent Key port and runs perfectly normally.
Do you think this might be something more deep like an issue with the BCM, or just the key fob needing to be reprogrammed?

I've seen people spill soda or other drinks on their fob then the buttons all behave wonky because things that shouldn't be making contact in the fob suddenly are.
You can take the fob all the way apart, the rubber dome buttons stick onto the printed circuit board, take them off and clean the PCB with some rubbing alcohol.
