Hit tire on highway

What’s up guys, I have a 07 g35 sedan (V36), I was driving on the highway when I saw a busted tire piece last second and tried dodging it but it hit the middle bottom. It did sound pretty nasty but not too bad but when I started slowing down at my exit to turn the steering wheel started feeling hard to turn. I then got home and noticed this connector. I’m not sure if it’s always been like this or not but most likely no or else I would’ve noticed it unless I missed it. The steering wheel still turns and there’s no noise but it almost feels like it’s out of powering steering even though it still has some. If you guys can help me out with this thanks!

Hopefully, you can plug that back in. If nothing is leaking, you should be ok....

Nothing seems to be leaking but the steering wheel kind of feels like it’s out of power steering even though it still has some that’s the problem. Do you know what that connector is for?

That's the connector for the Power Steering Solenoid Valve that controls steering input. If unplugged, the valve located on the pinion (top part) of the steering rack & pinion is in OFF position and not allowing full fluid flow which in turns allows for easier steering at idle. It stiffens up the steering according to speed. The Steering Control Module is located behind the glove box, black box, right by the PCM. Reconnect that plug if possible or soldier it or crimp the wires together.

Thanks man I went to the junkyard and cut out the 2 ends and I’m going to solder them together. Cheers.
