I wouldn't say that the IS rocked the automotive world.

I would say that the original G35 did. It pretty much signified the rebirth of the entire brand, bringing forth amazing styling and performance that finally left the BMW 3 series off #1 in many comparisons.

Like you, I think Infiniti missed the boat with this. I think an evolutionary change was needed this generation (especially with the current model only lasting 4 years) and the rear does indicate that. But the front looks more like an M or even Altima/Maxima. Really, I would have expected a Nissan badge if I only saw the front end. No character from the current model.

I'll have to wait for more pics and seeing in it person before I'm able to give it final judgement, but I really dislike the front end. Everything else looks good.

It's OK, but I'm not blown away. The rear does look a bit odd, but the front looks decent. I don't care for the wheels at all, hopefully they are not the sport wheels. The side mirrors are now the color of the car. LOVE the dual exhaust and the new white dash lights, but I think the ***** on the dash need some aluminum trim on the edges like the 05/06. I want to see a full interior shot to get a better idea. Hopefully the 09/10 tweak will look better since that is when I may be in the market for a new car.

Alright, so there are parts of the car that weren't AS great as expected... but, compared to everything else based on style alone... how could you NOT go with this car? IMO, Infiniti has the nicest looking car of the bunch now

God bless you, mayor! My first impression is that it looks great. The interior console isn't tremendously better, but its definitely an improvement. I'm really glad that the nav is now integrated into the dash. Doesn't look like a touch-screen though. Love the dual-exhaust and rear-end!

Can't wait to hear the specs and see more detailed photos.

I really need to see it in black, minus the spoiler and with some nicer wheels.

i'm hoping the AWD will be available in a 6mt but it doesn't look like it's going that route.

Personally, I feel it's a big improvement. Far more upscale-The car needed a shot of that. Looks like higher quality plastic in there too.
The rear end is interesting. However, the bumper is a bit on the large side. Rear looks very Avalonesque from some points. I suppose it helps to eliminate what I perceived as being narrow on the bottom and wide on the top look of the current G

If anything, maybe the headlights are over the top a tiny bit. I like the projectors though.
The front air damn is dramatically improved.
The interior appears cleaner and more logical all the way around. Finally, a nice display in the center of the gauges.

I'll have to see it in person before making final judgement

I really like the fact that Infiniti has chosen to go with the leather boot around the gear-shifter rather than the pattern that Lexus uses.

upscale is where the G is going -- the M took Infiniti there already so the price is also going to be a little more upscale. by how much --- that only time will tell
