Hey, I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your CD player. Have you had any luck at the dealer?

What's up!

You'll have to go to the dealer in November to check out the motor for yourself But glad to hear that you are looking forward to test driving the all new G.

I've always been one to root for the underdog. When the 1st G35 had the big task of dethroning the BMW 3 series I was glad to see the outcome of all the subjective testing out there, hence I now own an '04 6mt sedan with all the trimmings. The G35 brought life back to Infiniti and shook up the competition putting them on notice. So much so that they ALL went back to the drawing board and came back to the table with BIG offerings. The current 330i is quite feature laden, although at a much higher price (a bit overpriced in my opinion). Still, I would consider it since they provide free vehicle maintenance which makes up for the price gap.

I know Infiniti is trying to move their image upscale and compete with the best from Europe and Japan, but they can't keep riding on having an almost as good as, but for much less $$$ car. There have been many discussion here about offering a lower priced G with a smaller engine. I for one rather see Infiniti keep its image higher. So far Infiniti has done great with the G, M & FX.

Michelle if you are indeed from Infiniti then I hope that our replies are getting back to them to make an impact on the final product. Here's my 2 cents:

1. Horsepower/toque are going to need to be at least 315/280 to stay on top (using the new standard)

2. Infiniti needs to do more to improve fuel economy
'06 BMW 330i = 21/29
'06 Acura TL = 20/29
'06 Lexus IS350 = 21/28
'06 Infiniti G35 = 18/25
'06 Merc C350 = 20/29
'06 BMW 750i = 17/25

I had to include the 750i just to prove my point (360HP and close to 4500 lbs.)

3. More competetive features:
-anti brake fade
-brake drying
-DVD Audio/DTS CD surround audio system
-rain sensing wipers
-heating steering wheel (Maximas have these)
-auto dimming, power folding, tilting outside mirrors w/ turn signals (Maxima also has less signals)
-rear sunshade
-interior accent lighting
-venilated front seats

4. Not sure if these are not there but they should be:
-mirrors included in memory seating
-aux/iPod input
-personal comfort settings per driver/key (i.e. audio, climate, etc.)
-heated washer nozzeles (I've driven for an hour w/ frozen washers)
-voice activated control (maybe a bit upscale but would be nice)
-give 6mt intelligent key and rear heater ducts previously left out

5. There are rumors BMW is planning a higher performance version of its 330i dubbed a 335i w/ a possible turbo boasting 325-335hp. I think Infiniti would have a market for an exclusive limited production variant w/ even more performance.

I think I've covered most of the major points. I'm sure many of you will agree and disagree about the list. I love my G and would definately want to get another one if it has all the right stuff.

Sorry for the long BLAH, BLAH, BLAH guys, I just needed to make my point.
i completely agree that these options should be available to the G. most of these left out features are inexpensive to produce, so the price would not be effected significantly. someone replied, "what's so hard about reaching over and flipping a switch." nothing is difficult about it, but these features are prestigious and add to the luxury. it's disappointing when less reputable cars, such as the toyota avalon, have these features as options. in the case of the G and other mid to low end brand cars (ie, G compared to the Q) the company leaves these features out because they would like to see consumers buy up to the higher end models that have these features available. i'm sorry, but any features that the maxima has should be available to the G. i'm glad to see lower end cars, such as the new civic, has these luxury options available (navigation). within the next few years, it will force all luxury cars to have options available to keep up with the competition.

Hey,

No problem on the video. We just wanted to provide something for the true fans. Now, back to your questions, in terms of the engine, it has the next generation 300-plus horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine.

As for the audio system, you'll have to check out when this baby hits the dealaers, but be sure to let me know what you think when you do!

Hey,

We hope that people are just as thrilled about the second generation G sedan as we are. It was designed to offer a powerful, dynamic driving sensation and new levels of rich sophistication. Not sure if you felt the same way as we did about it, but it's good to know that you love it just as much as we do.

Talk to you soon!!!

Michelle,
Thanks for the feedback! Can you tell us anything about the built-in hard drive. What will it be used for? Can you store movies/videos, music, pictures..etc on it?

FX spoke to me more than any other model you guys had out at the time. Even the G35. These days there is the M and now this hot redesign. What to do, what to do...

Choices are good.

Hey what's up,

I wanted to be sure that you knew that I definetly work for Infiniti...trust me, I wouldn't jump on this forum and embarass myself like that I actually helped to ensure that Infiniti introduced itself to the message board and that we brought something of value...hint, the video to the table.

I also wanted to be sure that you knew that Infiniti's intention was not to do some kind of one-off, drive-by posting and walk away. We're really serious about listening to what the enthusiasts have to say and making sure that the input gets heard. So please know that I will definetly give your comments to the appropriate person.

But any way, enough of that, just wanted you to know how much we appreciate your feedback and the fact that you took the time to check out our "sneak peek."

Talk to you soon!
