Reason. Although it moves the thread to whatever area, it still doesn't unclutter the original section it was moved from. Especially if the mods perform mass amounts of moves like we have been seeing. If the moderators are going to move a thread, just move it. The OP can find their thread easy enough using their CP options

 

I think they are trying to help out the new folks get used to where things go. I would think for a "trial period" so to speak, the linked threads will help. Just my $.02 and I certainly see your point as well. I just wish people would post things in the right places.

 

IMHO I think 99.999999% of the people get the idea that most any thread in the sedan/coupe section is going to be moved. So the redirects are no longer needed.
