Need a my350z mod or someone who knows
Did I say a mistake wasn't made? No, I said it was overlooked.
I can tell you that personally, I never really paid much attention to people's sigs until this thread was created. When you posted the comment about Jeff's sig, I actually had to scroll up and see what you were talking about. Sorry, I'm not perfect. Was it an error on my part? Yes. Will I be paying closer attention to people's signatures in the future? Yes.
You want to say the staff here missed something, fine, but don't start some bs about playing games, you sir are the one playing games.

When even you admit that the "clutter" isnt even noticed and it takes me to show an example of why it should be a "non-issue" then suddenly it becomes an issue - that reeks of "playing games" imo.
I think what you fail to realize is that all the moderators are volunteers. We don't get paid to do our duties, and thus, the majority of us are members first, and moderators second. We don't go around looking for infractions, when we come across something that we see that could potentially be an issue, then we try to address it or bring in someone with more power/knowledge to do so. Expecting us to have every rule memorized and apply it in every situation would be overkill. We do what we can, if you don't like it, then no one is stopping your from closing the window.
I'm not suggesting you run around looking for cluttered sigs... I'm stating the obvious - it can’t possibly be a problem if the people monitoring the boards didn’t even notice it when replying to the member.
When I used the member’s sig as an example for something entirely different, suddenly they gave him a warning - this clearly makes no sense unless your rules are "do nothing unless a member brings it up".
If you read each of my posts in the context in which they were written and not isolate one post, you will understand the flawed logic. Every follow-up post I made regarding the sig issue has complete relevance to previous posts made by my or others addressing the posts made by me... if you respond to just one without understanding the bases of the subject, them you aren’t getting the full picture - and I'm not going to reiterate it...
Any logical person can sum it up by reading the posts regarding sigs and realize there is inconsistency, lack of logic and no concern for the "enthusiast" aspect that this particular site was founded on (“was” is the key word, it clearly isn’t anymore).
you just self admitted that you are like 90% of the rest of us (your statement in blue)... considering that, why would it be an issue???

A failure in the past on my part doesn't mean I can continue to do so in the future. If you consider someone trying to improve themselves as playing games, then I guess I'm a gamer.

Another thing- warnings and infractions are now being used a lot more, this decision was made independent of this case. Warnings are a simple way to notify someone of a violation, and it keeps a log so another mod doesn't send a similar message. People shouldn't take offense by it, it's just a better way of notifying members to correct something.

Because it is a rule, and has been one for a while. Again, it was carelessness on my part, not because it didn't violate the TOU regarding sigs.

The issue is the rule itself makes no sense because you didn’t even notice the infraction.
You guys need to stop be so defensive and understand what’s being stated… it seems as though every response made is some kind of justification for you actions and not addressing the issues that we are bringing up.
And I’d like to address the song and dance I keep reading about “wee are volunteers and don’t get paid”… fine – but doing something for free does not excuse doing it poorly. And even though you may not get “paid” it doesn’t mean you aren’t “compensated” – I’m sure each of you have free membership with all access and possibly other perks (not that I care).
If you are going to address my posts, at least address the “issue” I am speaking of and not a few words from one post.
I also think saying something shouldn't be an issue, isn't the same as saying maybe the rules should change. Trying to convince the admins to change a rule by saying something is stupid (which other said) also isn't the best way to go about it.

Compensation? What, access to the premier membership section? My premier membership is paid through July anyway, so I'm getting nothing I didn't have already anyway. Premier membership costs, what, $40/year? I make that by working 2.5 hours as an intern while still in school. Do you think the staff here only spend 2.5 hours/year working on the site?
As far as "doing our jobs poorly", report it to an IB admin. I really encourage you to do it, I'm very interested to see their response.
you guys (staff, mods, admins) need to review this thread beginning on page 127
http://my350z.com/forum/forced-induc...ports-127.html
pay particular attention to what is being said about the "free" staff monitoring this site...
I suggest you ask yourself if any of these things are true. There is no need to report your feelings back here... just think long and hard about what is being said by people that have notice things over here.
BTW - it doesn’t stem from this thread or any other particular thread... it's the "big picture"
Again, ask yourself honestly if the posts in the linked thread apply to you. You might learn and grow from your "honest" evaluation of yourself.

You can see a copy of Adrian's post (that he put in the Scott/RA thread on my350) here on 'Driver as well on post 103 of this thread:

I haven't read it, mostly because my settings only show 52 pages so I can't find page 127, but I want to throw this out here- the last time something was posted in that thread about the staff here (that allegedly Scott had been using Canadian's id and that they shared an IP), it was proven to be false by Internet Brands. Some said he thought someone else said something...yadda yadda yadda, it blew up into a huge issue and the mob formed looking to lynch someone....the reality was, it was completely false and was started by a case of the "telephone" game.

It’s pointless. Keep up the good work
did you actually read my post chief?
I never said that was the same exact situation you were referring to, even though they did bring up the same person's name at one point in the discussion and try to "blame" it on him.
I'm pointing out that the last time those people made allegations about the staff here they were completely discredited, not by 'Driver staff, nor by my350z staff, but by an impartial party- IB. A few of those people were big enough to apologize, and kudos to them, but I'd bet the majority a) didn't see Adrian's post, or b) didn't care and still believe it to be true.
I found what you seem to be referring to, and it appears to be just another case of telephone. Someone thinks that someone else did/said this and that....
Someone already posted that they'd contacted IB, I'm sure that if that if there's any truth to what is said, they'll take care of it unless you think they some how are corrupt and have an incentive to keep some horrible staff member here.
Have fun trolling.
