I can assure you that action of this nature is a duty commonly performed by the staff.
If you feel that there is a particular instance that was/is overlooked please PM myself or another Admin.

I guess the hint didn't work.

I don't have patience enough for those wanting to flaunt the rules.

^Yeah that make NO sense what so ever, you can "advertise" your for sale parts by making a thread but you can't "advertise" in your sig for parts you're selling. A real genius came up with that one LMAO!!!

Not only that; it’s supposed to be a community of enthusiasts helping each other… letting others know you have individual used parts that you don’t need and they might benefit from is “helping”.

And before the “classifieds” section is mentioned – not everyone frequents that area… and if/when they do, it’s normally because they are looking for something specific… someone might want/need the items but wouldn’t necessarily go looking in classifieds for them – maybe its something they hadn’t even thought of.

I understand the “rules” are to prevent people from using the site as a marketplace… but give me a break! A guy selling some of his used parts is cutting into paid sponsors profits???

The site has become a bunch of over zealous bureaucrats that apparently don’t have enough authority to authorize anything in their real life, so they use this site to play Internet police. Unfortunate it’s turning a lot of people off and the site is becoming nothing more than a chat room/drama palace

It's a 'signature' not an advertising banner, unless the member is a sponsor.

If there wasn't so many mini adverts all over the forum,
maybe there'd be even more traffic in the classifieds.

The purpose of keeping private f/s ads out of signatures is to reduce clutter, not because they cut into sponsor's profits.

What does the fact that it's allowed with sponsers make it less cluttered?

With vendors sig, additional clutter? yes, slightly.

But there are several other factors.
There are over 70,000 members & only a handful of sponsors.
The small group of vendors are generally not large post count contributors to thread discussions.

Lastly, we have to have a package to sell, to keep this site going.
This is one item in that vendor package that makes their expenditure worth it.

reduce clutter??? What the?

Look at Jeff's sig - that's clutter (no offense Jeff, seriously) - I'm not bothered by that... why would a tiny sentence in a sig be clutter???

I though you were kidding at first but I see your sig is blank… that’s ridiculous!

Clearly there is a game being played here… they could see you sig the entire thread and had no problem with it until they are called on some scrupulous action – and now they do that???

I had no problem with your sig Jeff – I wasn’t targeting you for correction - I was using your example to show how bass ackwards things are getting (with their actions)… who would have known it would result in even more of the same ~
