Cool

The membership fee is not a big deal to me. My objective was to benefit Kyle for all of his efforts on G35Driver. I appreciate all that he has accomplished, and I'm grateful that I could contribute. Even if Premier was not an option, I still would have paid. But that's just me.

That's what we're looking towards.

When we asked people for donations to help with the site change-over (Kyle did nothing but work on the site for over a week), we got very little, compared to when we started Premier Memberships. If you would like to donate, you are still free to. You're not losing anything from before but classifieds. We're also working on a fix for this, as well, that would allow all members to post classifieds but STILL be verified. More to come.

To be totaly honest, if you were to lower the price to about $14.95 or $19.95 for the year you would get alot more people joining

Yeah, we know. The difference in volume, however, would not offset the difference in revenue. Based upon our polling data, the price was set at its level. If we were to lower the price by 30%, we wouldn't have a commensurate 30% increase in customers. Sort of an optimum price point.

Cool

^^I agree. I'm not an Admin nor a Moderator, but that price was concluded for a reason. I don't know. I'm sure it's a "break-even" type of quote to begin with.

I completely understand GEE35X's POV, and his curiosity about what you get for 30 bucks. I'm not pointing fingers here, and I mean this in general, but there are people that want "Something-for-Nothing," and there always will be. But by own perspective, is 30 bucks really that much? Cancel your newspaper! You can get the news online! There ya go!

I know $30 is a lot of money, if you don't have it. But, c'mon. We are all driving $35-$38,000 cars here. Maybe $30 on the Hyundai.Driver (whatever) would be a better place to be.

Let me put it this way. Take that $30 and put in a slot machine. You may go a little while, but it'll be gone soon enough, with nothing to show for it.
Then you will tell yourself that you could have used that money for a Premier Membership. (I've lost that much money in 10 minutes at a casino.)

All I'm saying is, lend a hand and show your support, if you can. If you can't, that's fine too. And if you do, just go with the flow. Don't ask for the moon.

I guess my perspective is just different. To each his own.

What I don't understand is the people unwilling to pay for Premier Membership, or who want it cheap, and their need to make posts complaining about it. Why post here about how it's hurting the site? It isn't, and such claims are unfounded. People are posting, negatively, who have no information to back up their claims, no sources to cite, and have no idea what they are talking about. If you don't want to pay, don't. And don't post nonsense here, either. Just go about your Registered User business...

I don't know what is involved in running a site, so I made my assumtions. I guess I was wrong and I apologize if anyone was offended. I am willing to pay for the membership now as I now realize that it takes a lot of time, money, and effort to run this site and I want to contribute.

Cool

If that is your conclusion, do it because you want to......not because you have to.

Its kinda funny that all these guys who drive $34K+ cars and add all these mods are complaining about $29.95 a year to come to a place to talk about something they love dearly. You guys running the show charge what you need to charge, I'm sure its not easy run a site like this and it takes up a lot of your time. Once I purchase a G I will plan on becoming a Premier Member.

Lol, Tig, you're having more fun than you realize......33 posts this year alone.
They mount up quickly.

Just think how many posts you'd have with access to all the forums.....

well youre probably right GSM, but, I used to eat, sleep, live on this website, nothing got by me. 33 really? That is more than I thought. But now that I think about it, most of those were in the FS section when I was selling all my parts, kinda ironic isnt it, kinda glad I sold all those before the change.

Woah- I just looked at yourn-7507, HOLY COW! are your fingers bleeding?

We're actually at the height of our posting metrics. We've got about 2,000+ a day new posts, but they're spread into very specific areas so it doesn't look like a lot.
