Damn, why couldn't it look aggressive like this car....

I like it, it's a natural progression...but I am glad the old G35 will go down in history a little more with it's definitive headlights, front end styling...
Funny excuse. We never had to make dumb excuses about the 1st gen coupe pics being "deceiving". First gen coupe pics look great from any angle. Shouldn't have to make excuses. It is what it is.Originally Posted by MikeButcher
Wait to see it in person before being completely dissapointed...pictures will always be somewhat deceiving.I like it, it's a natural progression...but I am glad the old G35 will go down in history a little more with it's definitive headlights, front end styling...

Good point. I'm not in love with the new coupe, by any means. The front end looks too pvssy to me. It's not aggressive at all.Originally Posted by csdstudio

I dont like the new coupe really... looks like a lexus or something to me. Not aggressive enough at all. I like the way they look right now.

I'm taking that rumor more seriously now.
The strange thing to me is that the new '07 Sedan still says "Infiniti" to me when I see it, while the '08 Coupe says "Lexus" when I see it.
It seems like they spent more time on the Sedan design than they did on the Coupe design. The Sedan was a big improvement, but the Coupe was a non-improvement.

It was the same for me when I first saw the 1st gen G, but I think that was because there was nothing else like it out at that time. It had lines similar to a current aston martin (and a lot of currently expensive cars) but for an inexpensive price. If the new G37 was radically different than what was being offered currently, trying to do what the 1st gen did - we'd all be complaining that it was too different from the 1st gen. We'd have the same complaints. This design is a nice evolution of the current design and I like it the more I see it. Can't wait to see it in person.Originally Posted by csdstudio

I honestly think most of the people complaining here don't have their own opinion but rather just jumped on the "whining/complaining" bandwagon and keep regurgitating what 1 person's opinion was.

I think Vasiliy that there may be some truth in what you say, although for my part, I saw the pictures first before I read any comments. My initial reaction was, "Yikes, what happened?" The more I look at the car, the more I feel that Infiniti let us all down. Infiniti knows the fanatical appeal the Coupe has and also knows that the Gen I has been admired by many companies for usage of the products they sell. I just bought some polish that had a G35 Coupe on the bottle. I have seen numerous products and commercials with the Gen I Coupe. Originally Posted by vstrizheus

Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but no one can doubt the artistic genius of Michaelangelo. He is universally acclaimed for the artistic beauty and grace of his paintings and sculptures. The same holds true for automobiles. Timeless designs by Pininfarina and Bertone for example have demonstrated time after time that people love good design and style.
People here expect more of Infiniti because they are a niche company that in the last 5 years has been making gorgeous, affordable vehicles with great performance. Infiniti needs to be careful that it doesn't lose sales to Lexus and BMW because of styling improprieties. It can't afford to. Nissan sales have been down and the Corporation is struggling again. I hope that Infiniti has an ace up its sleeve that it can play soon.

I understand some people geniunely are disappointed, but my comment was in regards to all the people claiming "OMG HIDEOUS CAR, LOOKS LIKE THE ALTIMA 100%!!!" Originally Posted by Samson

It is not Hideous, its not as gorgeous as the Concept, but it does look pretty good. I don't "love it" but I don't hate it either. And it looks NOTHING like the Altima Coupe

Agreed. The Altima Coupe is a bit of a stretch. Hideous, no way. Homely, maybe. Looks like this is one of those cars that will have to "grow on you. The new corporate Audi grille took some time for me to like it, but now I think it looks pretty good. Perhaps the same thing will happen with the new Coupe.Originally Posted by vstrizheus

i like the "concept" better.... i'll stick with my 06... headlight looks a lot like the 5 series beemer.
the only upgrade from the previous model are the scion roof, the interior, engine and audio unit.
looks way too simular to the previous year.. not a "big" change asthetically.
