Unlike the current G Coupe, modding the new '08 Coupe will be REQUIRED to get it to look good. Aftermarket companies are drooling already!

Why would they show off something looking so fantastic merely a few months ago knowing people would be expecting that..... and then release a watered down version.
Everyone always reacts like this. Let's look at this concept more carefully. First of all, it's like 2.5" off the ground, it has 20" rims, has blue headlights (when they're not on), and it has no door handles. The blue tinted headlamps are illegal due to a US penal code that says you cannot have blue or red lights to the front of your car (to protect police imitations). Of course it looks great, but it's the furthest thing from practical. This is one of the reasons exotic cars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis typically look so bad a$$.

If you compare the apples to apples pictures of the concept to the production version, they actually look REAL close.

This is such a close minded comment. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I for one did not like the 1st gen design. Way too roundish for my taste and too similar to every other car. Heck, I never even notice it on the streets.

But don't get me wrong, I totally respect the fact that people find the 1st gen dead sexy. I happen to find the 2nd gen better looking.

I like it all around, the pictures that InfinitiMichael put up, made me like it even more. My favorite upgrade is the 3.7 engine and 55 hp increase.

Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The new Coupe is much more roundish than the previous one. Your eyes need checked.

Something got whacked up on the front end of the Coupe during the transition from the Concept to the final release.

It's totally possible .

But it depends on your definition of roundish, to me the previous gen looked like the Audi TT which I didn't like. I like the wavey curves front of the 2nd gen and the fact that the roof line seems less high up then the previous gen. I'm bias as well, my current car has a low roofline (93 Stealth) and looks overall really flat so the 2nd gen looks much better then the 1st gen in my eyes. But then again, when I'll see it in person, I might not like it so you never know, I might be keeping my current car a little longer.

remember the doggy door on the first Sedans? Infiniti did the unspeakable and did a mid-year change. I don't see why they couldn't change the front if enough interest is generated.

I agree, and disagree. The new coupe is fine, parts of it at least, but the front end is just too tame and watered down. The car looks way shorter than the concept, this could be because it's on practical suspension, and not on 20 inch rims. The should however consider reworking the rear end a bit more, to look like the concept, and FOR SURE change the front fascia. Then the looks of this car will match it's performance, because at this point you kind of have a sleeper. A slightly girly looking coupe, with a BEAST under the hood. I hope top-secret or Veilside have something good in mind for this car!!

He's got the point....i wouldn't hate the new gen so much if it wasn't the concept car that was presented. Brought my expectation to the level where I want the new gen to be as good as the concept...

It seems like the ridges along the junction of the hood and fenders are higher on the production model compared to the Concept. I wish there was a pic of the production model from the same perspective as this pic of the Concept for good comparison. The Concepts' hood seems a little flatter than the hood of the production model from that persepective. Keeping the ridge in the hood would probably have helped. The hood now is so curvy and bulbous.

c'mon guys

ppl need to be a lil more realistic. how often does a production car look exactly like the concept version? did u really expect to get the star wars headlights, the 21" wheels, or the pano-roof? even if you did, ppl would still whine since the price would be through the roof because infiniti gave us the shinny new spaceship we love sooo much in the pictures. also, if ppl loved the way the first gen looked so much, why are bodykits so popular? the g37 will look a lot better in person especially with diff colors. the front can stand a lil reworking, but its still a really nice car from the pics so far. give it a chance. other, more aggressive versions, will probably come later.

^^ Agreed.

Also, in regards to letting Infiniti know what I think:

Dear Infiniti,

Thank You for the beautiful G37 Coupe! Also, thanks for the 3.7L VQ37VHR.
