Let's not be niave. infinitimichael was sent here in response to the clearly negative feedback from initial impressions of the car. while his presence is welcome, do you really believe a marketing person would show up if this place had been raving about the cars appearance? like most forums there will be shills and plants talking up how great it is to balance off the comments of the masses. a new car like this one should have had overwhelming support from this forum. the fact that its not overly popular among enthusiasts isn't a good sign.

Like many here I was awaiting the release of the car with much anticipation. While I will go see it when arrives, based on everything thus far there is almost no chance of me purchasing a 2008 G35 coupe. The design team on this car missed the boat.

Well that's a shame. Many of us are going to enjoy a really nice car. If you are really going to judge whether or not your buy new new G coupe because of leaked shots of a filthy test mule, then that's your loss. Infiniti went around to all of the enthusiast sites when the new sedan came out (to answer questions and such) and there wasn't even as much of an uproar as there is now. That said, let us know what you do decide to purchase.

I disagree. InfinitiMichelle, whom Michael mentioned, posted on here numerous times providing us with information, pictures, and videos of the 07 Sedan prior to its release. I think it's great that people from Infiniti take the time to post here.

I concur. It means that Infiniti really cares about their car enthusiasts.

If you are honest with yourself and at all objective you will acknowledge that the consensus on this forum is that this is not an attractive design. Washing the car isn't going to change the shape of the new front end is it? Consider how incredibly revolutionary and distinct the G35 design was when it was released. Does the 2008 G37 coupe have anything distinct or even remotely original about its design? The reason there is an uproar in this forum is that the appearance of the car is no longer fresh. I can make all kinds of analogies to other cars which already exist but I think you've read the comments from others. As I stated above, I will look at the G37 coupe when it arrives but why should anyone purchase a car that aesthetically isn't attractive. Since you seem to be genuinely curious, at this point my other considerations are a 3 series, MB CLK, or A5.

I don't want to argue with you because design is subjective. If you don't like it, you don't like it. All I'm saying is that I believe everyone, including me, saw five or six pictures of a test mule and went nuts. I know that pictures do not do cars justice, especially the ones that were leaked. The new sedan was the same exact way. That car turned out to be a beauty, IMO. I expect the same from the coupe.

Agreed. Hey, they could have just simply shrugged us off.....

The rear of the coupe looks nice WITHOUT the spoiler.

I completely agree that seeing the car in person is important and that whether one finds a car attractive subjective. I visited the dealer last week and sat in the 2007 sedan. Its a fine car and much nicer than the model it replaced. Giving credit where credit is due, the new interior in the 2008 coupe/2007 sedan is massive upgrade and very nice.

As I said above, I'm happy infinitimichael is here. hopefully he will share the comments of the forum with someone from infiniti who will listen as most of us really want this car to be a winner.

The way I see it - The G37 Coupe is a very good looking car. The real problem is the Infiniti G Concept Coupe they showed off earlier this year.

Why would they show off something looking so fantastic merely a few months ago knowing people would be expecting that..... and then release a watered down version.
