Contact Infiniti and let them know your feelings about the new G coupe!

Overall, it is an improvement over the current G in both looks and performance. Come on guys, its the next generation of a great car. Improved performance, improved interior, improved brakes, improved stereo (thank god), and improved design. So your gonna buy a Chevy?
The reason I asked whether you were serious or not is that I too had Chevy power in my past. Ordered a 94 Z-28 when they first came out. LT1 350 V-8
6 speed. Had that thing in the shop more than any other car I have ever owned in 40+ yrs. Thats why I stay with Infiniti/Lexus now.

I agree that GM has had some reliability issues and this certainly is on my mind. They seem to be addressing many of them and Bob Lutz has certainly had a profound effect on the corporation. I am well aware that Infiniti spanks GM when it comes to dependability and reliability. I'll just have to wait and see.
IMO, the Camaro is better looking, the V8's can deliver better fuel economy and the performance will certainly be better than the new G Coupe. With that said, the new Coupe, while lacking the cachet of the Gen I, is still a pretty good performance and luxury bargain. I think the new Coupe is better looking than the BMW 335i Coupe or the new Lexus IS 350.
I agree with both the 335 and IS 350. I looked at both BMW and Lexus when I bought my 06 Coupe. Neither had the looks I like. But I have a rule on buying anything from GM, Ford or Chrysler. I don't care if it is the hottest looking car made, I don't go there for good reason. Sad, but true. And my Dad retired from Chrysler.

Likewise, when I saw the Coupe, first in the magazines and later in person, it was drop dead gorgeous. It photographed well and looked equally good in person. Dirt or poor shots did nothing to diminish its stylish looks.
I have been waiting for the new Coupe to come out as I have been planning to get one and add it to my G sedan. I have read some pretty lame excuses for the styling such as the comparison between one set of pictures showing the car being dirty and others showing it cleaned up. Additionally, it is sad when people have to say that it will probably look better in person than in the photos. I think that is a cop out.
I can't be accused of being biased since I don't own the present Coupe. All my years of experience with cars-40+, have never seen a car that has photographed poorly to be any better looking in person. Over the years, I have heard this excuse thrown out for poorly executed designs. Generally, if a car photos well, it looks great in person too.
My first impressions when I saw the pics in Automobile magazine were, "Yikes, what happened?" Saying that the front end and overall design will grow on you is like saying Rosie O'Donnel's face and body will grow on you as well. Either a car is good looking, or it isn't. Good styling isn't necesarily subjective. Cars that have been extolled for their beauty are universally seen as such.
For the moment, I will reserve any more judgement until I actually see one in person. The one thing that could win me over in spite of the ugly duckling front end would be performance that would rival a BMW 335i Coupe. If the new Coupe could get into the high 4's for 0-60 and the low 13's for the quarter mile, I might still give it a look-see. Otherwise, I'm off to Bowtie land to get me a new Camaro.

You are my hero. I couldn't have said it better.
I don't want a car that grows on me. It should be immediate.. Visceral. Make me want to look back at it every time I get out. I was sold on the concept the first *second* I laid my eyes on it. I just knew I had to trade in my 05'.. willingly, happily losing money trading to get it.. happily.
NOPE. The front design of this car killed it for me. This car now looks like a smiling blow fish. No jealousy, envy, hatin.. whateva. I've seen every angle.. every picture thus far, and the best pictures of this car to me are luke warm and have me literally saying, "that's.. ok". Failure. Pictures don't lie. I'm keeping the 35. If I really need to get another car, I'll take another look at the 335i, the next M3. Better yet, wait for the new Supra and 09'Z.

The G35 is a smooth, sleek design that lacks frills. I, of course, feel the same way about the E46 vs. the E92 3er coupes. With the new headlights, the design of the hood, and the new 3 hole front bumper, it seems to have lost some of its class.
However, yes, it has gained an a$$load of grunt and those brakes will probably stop even better than my Brembos, but in terms of styling alone, especially in the taillights, hood design, and front bumper, it seems to me that something has been lost.
EDIT: And if I can get a new Camaro out the door for less than 35 with some of the features in my G Coupe, like Auto Climate and Xenons.......sign me the hell up. LS motors are easy as hell to get power out of and I almost got a GTO over my G.

I still like to look back and see how sexy my 04 coupe looks as I walk away. I am very disappointed in the 08 and love my 04 ever so much more now.
The concept said"I want to f$#k you".What they settled on says....well nothing.Nadda.
My '04 says "I want to f$#k you".
My point. The previous versions were just plain sexy! The concept version made me think of a mini Aston Martin.
Why?Why?Why?
And wheres the TT option?

I don't get it. This concept car was a winner. And for the most part seemed to be a realistic, aggressive, yet still sexy evolution of the car. Inifiniti.. I didn't think a car company could break my heart. But I'll get over it.

another member used photoshop to compare the concept to the 37.. and with the exception of the doors placement.. they're very very close in design.
i expect the forum to go nuts in a few days when the car is unveiled in NY... I currently love the entire package.. maybe a few things i'd do differently if it were my design.. but so far i love it. i just hope my expectations are met next week!

The new Coupe lacks the cachet so needed to make it stand out from the crowd. Conservative, generic styling demonstrates mediocrity to the afficianados. I want something that makes me pant, makes my heart go pitter-patter and causes me to run my fingers over it just to touch its sensuous shape.
