The dad of a guy i work with is the national fleet manager for Nissan (which means he is big time) and he just got back from a business trip to Corporate headquarters. He told his son, my co-worker, that the sedan will come out as an 07 model and the coupe will be an 08 and released in Sept or Oct. of 07. So we can drop the debate.

My brother's, cousin's, sister's, husband said the new coupe was released in 2005, but it has an invisibility switch to conceal it from police, and every driver leaves it on all the time, so we have never seen one

I didn't know that this was even a debate. This has been known for some time now.

The new G Sedan will be unveiled in April and will be released sometime in the fall as an 07 model. The new G Coupe will not be unveiled until late this year and will be released as an 08 model.

This came from Infiniti VP Mark Igo.

i think the 07's are going to pretty much put all the options available
from its suppliers to deplete their inventory as much as they can.

08 sounds good to me. i'll probably get the 09's. i never buy the first
year model.

Everything on this board is speculation and educated guesses. You're just paraphrasing what's been said before in the other thousand posts on this same issue. I just wish some of you stopped claiming you know someone's mother's extendend long lost cousin's father...it's just BS!

Wouldn't the 08 coupe be safe to buy since it will be in Japan first and the fact that the sedan will be out a year earlier and the coupe is very similar in its mechanics, so it seems if there are any problems they would already have been found in the Japan version and the sedan here in the states before the coupe is produced?

You'd think that would be the case ... often it is not. It takes at least 1-2MY to get the 'kinks' out, so to speak. The worst offenders usually get caught after the first batch but you'd want to wait a year because the LHD model might still have problems in assembly since certain parts have to be fabricated from scratch.
