Hissing sound from rear of car?

Hissing sound from rear of car?

hey guys

whenever i start my car or leave it idling i hear a hissing sound from under the car in the rear. it would hssssssssss then pause hsssssssssss again. over n over.

is it a valve opening and closing? i donno, kinda sounds werid.

anyone else have this or know what im talking about.

Seriously though, the only thing I could think that might make a noise is the fuel pump. If its on the way out, it may be making noise.

get under there and tighten it up with a 14mm deep socket.

ima just bring it to the dealer since i got a whole list of warranty work to be done.

ya invest in some gaskets for the exhaust if u bought it used.

Most G35 Coupes do it. Mine has been doing it since the day I bought the car. I don't think it's a problem.

It seems to come from the passengers side rear section of the car. This has actually been mentioned on the forum in tons of other threads, and nobody(to my knowledge) ever linked it to anything problematic.

I suspect it may have something to do with a pressure release on the fuel return line or something of that nature.

Mine does the same thing, and I know it's not the exhaust. I always just figured it was the fuel pump or something, don't think it's a problem.

yup, i removed the rear seats and it's loud as hell. It hisses on and off when no on the gas, but when stepping on the pedal it goes hissss and when you let go it stops
