they may have bypassed the cables to ur light if your car wasn't prewired or something if there is a prewire for spoiler.. anyways my brake light started working again yesterday??! i dont understand haha it definitely was not working for a week and a half.. I have an appointment on Thursday so hopefully they can check it out as well as some other problems with my power outlets
open your trunk and check where the black rubber is on the right hand side giggle it if the brake light comes on or if wierd things are happening your have broken wires in there, split it open and then resolder them and wrap them back up this is sort of common the issue i am talking about.
My rear break light is busted as well. I checked all the connections from my trunk to the light as best as I could and all the connections seem fine. Is there a separate fuse at all for the 3rd rear break light? Thanks.

My dealer said one of the rows of LEDs was out and must have shorted out the other one because it came back on for a day or so before I brought it in, but it wasn't bright at all
If you look around at other semi-stock or stock G35 sedans (at least in Florida) almost ALL of the third brake lights are not working.. I think it has something to do with the heat because mine will work for the first 2-3 times i press the brake.. then it wont work anymore, maybe because the resistors heat up to much, i don't know.
Any advice on this would be great

according to other topics on here, it is caused by a bad diode within the light's circuitry. Some people take out the light, and solder in a new diode or they simply by the new unit for 100$ at the dealer.. or pay the dealer 400$ to fix it. I believe the new unit has 2 LED bulbs instead of 6.
