Like an xmas tree.

Hi all, pretty new to g35d so not too efficient at using it yet, so apologies if this has been covered and I missed it.

'04 AT sedan, stock.

First off, I need new rubber and brake pads. I'm pretty certain that what I'm going to describe is related to these needs but it seems bizarre so I wanted to hear some opinions.

Bout a week ago, VDC Off, ABS and Slip came on and VDC (although not ABS) got disabled by the computer. I tracked it down to the brake pads being low, but topped off the fluid reservoir to fool the computer until I can replace them.

Today, my throttle pedal suddenly 'stopped working'. I could idle forward and reverse but could not apply power. The VDC Off, Slip and Service Engine Soon lights were on.

Not having any better ideas, I turned off the engine and restarted it. After that the throttle came back to life, but the SES light remains on.

Is this expected behavior for a brake pad issue or do I need to go into triage with the beast?

Thanks!

~suse

Hey there, Buddy.

I had read a thread talking about the same idea. I am not sure they ever got to the SES light coming on or not.

Here is the link to the direct response in that thread that might have info:

Thanks, DKatman.
Yeah, I'm not too worried. My impression is that the computer has some pretty tight tolerances. Between my brakes and tires (worn = diameter is not within spec?) I think I'm just pushing the envelope.

Yet, I'm eager to hear more from the g35d crew!

Sounds like a throttle body / pedal position sensor issue.

+1

Had the same issue with the same lights. My entire throttle body needed replacement.

So what ever happened here?

Did you get it fixed? Or just start walking everywhere?

The problem took care of itself after my next fill up. I've read that a loose gas cap can cause those symptoms. I guess the ODB code (P2135) is a fuel system catch-all.

Good Deal then. That is the best kind of repair.
