Are you serious?? did it really work? and when you reset it did you drive the car hard or slow... and did you use the 12 hour battery disconect or did you do something else?

When you reset it, it goes back to normal until you drive aggressively for a while again.

I did the 12 hour disconnect. We were working on some things and left the battery unplugged over night. The next day, I had to reset all of my radio controls and started watching my MPG (I have a Z so we have the info meter, you would need Navi on a G to get it) and it skyrocketed.

I normally don't drive my car hard unless at an event.

Also keep in mind, I have a Vortech, Split Second, FMU, and 440 injectors, so needless to say, I was thrilled.

did you need a code to reset your radio or do you just mean you had to reset the stations?

I would check your O2 sensor(s). I'm not sure how many are on this car. It could be off but not so off that it's throwing a code.

I'm not saying resetting the ECU won't work, I just don't understand how it would. Isn't the ECU programmed to keep the a/f ratio at a specified ratio, regardless of how much gas you give the car? The only way I see this working is if the car decides to run lean after resetting the ECU which makes no sense to me. It can't limit the amount of air coming in.

I bought my car a couple of weeks ago and am getting 16 mpg with spirited driving. That's what I expected. I'm sure I can get better with unspirited driving without resetting the ECU.

Sounds more like there is something wrong with how you drive as opposed to the car itself,

that did not work for me. i still got 60miles from quarter tank. so i guess i have to disconnect the battery for 12 hours.
