i'll save you 12 hours... take off the negative battery cable, step on the brake pedal 3 times, then hook the neg cable back up. Works for me every time. If you drive your car aggressively, the ECU learns that and gets used to it, so it knows it has to use more gas, even when you're not bashing on the throttle. When you reset it, it goes back to normal until you drive aggressively for a while again.

I normally don't drive my car hard unless at an event.
Also keep in mind, I have a Vortech, Split Second, FMU, and 440 injectors, so needless to say, I was thrilled.

I did the 12 hour disconnect. We were working on some things and left the battery unplugged over night. The next day, I had to reset all of my radio controls and started watching my MPG (I have a Z so we have the info meter, you would need Navi on a G to get it) and it skyrocketed.

I would check your O2 sensor(s). I'm not sure how many are on this car. It could be off but not so off that it's throwing a code.
I'm not saying resetting the ECU won't work, I just don't understand how it would. Isn't the ECU programmed to keep the a/f ratio at a specified ratio, regardless of how much gas you give the car? The only way I see this working is if the car decides to run lean after resetting the ECU which makes no sense to me. It can't limit the amount of air coming in.
I bought my car a couple of weeks ago and am getting 16 mpg with spirited driving. That's what I expected. I'm sure I can get better with unspirited driving without resetting the ECU.
