Just wanted to give ya an update w/my situation..
I originally put the Techron additive in when I first noticed the problem about 2-3 mos ago. Since then I've been using strictly shell (no BP).
Well, to my surprise when I filled up today, my gauge reads completely full again!

So have faith guys, it may take a few weeks but the techron does work!

No BP gas FTW!

from what i have noticed, dont let ur tank go down til the light comes on, cus when u pump it again, it normally stops 3/4 or around 10-13 gallons. But if fill up before 1/4, it fills up to the top fine.

just something i have noticed.

It's the fuel sending units. I had the same problem (mentioned in my earlier post in this thread) and the dealership replaced both of the fuel sending units and the problem is fixed. They get dirty and start sending bad signals. Using an additive may help some but if they are already dirty then it will probably not get them back to completely clean and working correctly. There is no need to replace your entire fuel tank unless they have already tried the fuel sending units and that did not correct your issue. If they replace the tank but put the same sending units back in you will still be at square one. Not sure why your dealership hasn't checked them before, it was the first thing my dealer looked at. They did that first because it was either check that or the gauge itself and that is a lot more involved.

ya i don't trust da dealership in town. i told them b4 that problem could b sending units. instead of replacing da sending units they replaced da shutter valve. and that obviously didn't fix the problem. so when i go pick up my car on monday, i'm gonna talk to da mechanic that worked on it. cuz this service advisor just doesn't know ****!
