05 coupe power seat problem
05 coupe power seat problem
Hey guys,
I'm new to the whole G35 scene. I just bought an 05 G35 Coupe, and the power seats adjustments will raise the seat, but they will not lower them. All the other seat adjustments work fine. Do you think I will have to get a new switch? Any helps/tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Someone probably spilled coffee or soda on the switches. It's a common problem and nine times out of ten, you can remove the switches and clean the points with electrical solvent. Be very careful when doing this. Do one at a time, and make sure you have a clean work area because they are easy to loose.

So does this sound like I just need to clean off the controls?

^^^ it could be the controls, or maybe your tilt motor has taken a poop. one easy way to check to to go under the seat frame and tap on the tilt motor while you operate the
switch to lean it forward.. if it doesn't start working again, then its usually the switch
that has gone bad. If it starts working again, then it is the tilt motor that has gone bad and then you'll probably have to replace the whole seat frame if you want it fixed because i don't think you can get the seat motor by itself, but i could be wrong.
