code problems?? 03 G35.
Disconnected the battery last fall and charged regularly, hooked everything back up and this happens:
-"VDO" wont shut off.
- "slip" light on.
- "SES" light on.
tried driving and cant get over 2500 rpm, starts bucking/cutting out.
pulled codes, got "102" 3 times and a "113", cleared codes, restarted and the same thing happens..
everything worked just lovely before putting her to bed..
all wisdom greatly appreciated..

Hi there, how did you get your codes? How i understand it you should have gotten some other letters and digits before your mentioned codes. If i loo up your code 102 in my manual the closest code is as follows= P0102- which means mass air flow (MAF) sensor circuit, excessively low voltage signal, and for your next code my closest is= PO113- which means intake air temperature(IAT) sensor circuit, excessively high voltage signal. I hope this may help you maybe you should carry out the re-learning procedures on the Accelerator Pedal Released Position Sensor,Throttel Valve Closed Position Sensor and Idle Air Volume Sensor. Once the battery is disconnected and then reconnected these steps should be done to restore the settings for the sensors. Cheers Richard
Hi there, i have also wanted to run a after market filter but i have always been concerned about the filter spray one needs to use to coat the filter so that it helps collect the dust etc as it draws the air through. Now the way i see it and it is only my opinion and i stand for correction is that the spray can pass through the filter aswell and just behind the filter is the MAF sensor so what happens is it gets a coating of spray then that may cause a functioning problem thats maybe why you get the error code P0102. Just the way i see it? What code reader are you using i need to get one but i fear getting one that wont work on the Nissan.

I've had problems before with K&N filters fouling a MAFS with excess oil spray. It was on a Maxima, but I don't see why the G would be any better.
Symptoms definitely indicate a MAFS problem. Pull it out and clean it with CRC MAFS Cleaner spray. Reinstall it and recheck all your connections. Clear the codes before you restart the car. You can reset the ECU (clear the codes) by unhooking the battery and stepping on the brake pedal several times while it's unhooked.

Not sure what exactly the problem was but after having sit for a week the car started up differently than before. This time it would start up with no ses, slip, or vdc lights but would immediately die. This time unpluging the MAF made a difference. It would start and idle without dieing. Before there would be no change at all if i unplugged the MAF. So i'm guessing it had something to do with the connection. Anyways I cleaned the MAF sensor and it became better. The ecu had to relearn the idle and now everything is back to normal! Whew now i can cancel my appt at the dealership.

But I still dont understand why the "slip" and "VDO" lights were on??
Tis a mystery??
