Oversized Oil Filter

I am new to this forum having totaled my truck a few weeks ago, I decided i was ready for a change. Just bought an 05 G35 Sedan and of course I'm ready to start looking for some of the same mods I found for my truck.

Since I need to start by changing fluids my first thought was whether anyone is using an oversized oil filter. I searched but didn't see much about what other larger filters can be used on our cars. I did find a thread from another forum where someone found a Wix filter that seemed to fit. The part number is 51347. It looks to be about twice the size of the tiny filter for the G35. I began to cross reference that number and see which purolator filter would fit. From what I've found, it looks like L20073 might also work. I've seen reference here to the M110 here

Has anyone tried using any of these filters?

Thanks

i bought a fram, that is listed for some other infiniti, nissan models including gtr, it appears to be identical at seal flange, but approx 40% longer can. I am baffled at the size of the stock filter!!!! lol

I thought everyone knew that Fram uses a cardboad valve(anti back flo) which usually fails causing that tap, tap, tap dry start for about 5 sec.

I decided to go ahead and try the wix 51347 and so far no leaks. Here is a link to the 350z forum where I got the info originally. Go to the second page to see the pics and good info.

I'll give another update in another month or so.

For OEM Nissan filter, ask for the 9E000, it's about 1/2-3/4" longer. Normal is "65F". If you want Mobil1 filter, normal is M1-108 and the larger one is M1-110.

Wix is a good one. You can also fit maxima or titan filters which is a bit bigger.
