2003 G35 Coupe AC compressor failure

Alright so I bought a used G a few months ago. Since I've had it I ran the AC maybe 3 or 4 times and it worked just fine. Probably went a month without running it and then all of a sudden it starts running hot. Pressure was in the system so I fig I had freon. Took it into a shop and they flush and filled it to no avail. Diagnosed me with an internal compressor failure, needing a compressor, dryer, and expansion valve. My question is, if they evac'd the system wouldn't that have cleaned out any metal shavings or debris from the dryer and EV? Could I just replace the compressor without fear of contamination. I haven't touched the AC since the evac.

Before all that let me ask you are you running stock headunit, and if so has it been working such as radio/CDs and such? My A/C Started blowing hot air and I don't hear the compressor engaging because my headunit went so I'm doing a DD. Usually when the Headunit goes in our G's it affects our A/C controls.

I replaced the stock unit with an aftermarket dash kit which had ac controls. It originally had the dead unit with the ac stuck on auto climate control when I bought the car.

If you change your compressor it is recommended to change your filter dryer.
