Check engine light code
I've got a check engine light that I can't seem to get to go away.
I work at Firestone and had them pull the code. I'm getting a p1078. They couldn't find any info on it through alldata, mitchell, or identifix.
I called Nissan and all they'll tell me is its not a "true" code...
I searched online and found people fixing this issue by replacing cam sensor. I replaced bank 1 rear cam sensor, reset light, and 70 miles later came back on. I switched the rear sensors hoping for a different code to appear for bank 2 code, bit 68 miles later the sad exact code appears.
I can't figure this out and don't want to have to take it to Nissan if I don't have to.
I'd appreciate any help you guys can give.

JUST ASK TECH - "DTC P1078 P1084 EVT CONTROL POSITION SENSORDTC P1078 P1084 EVT CONTROL POSITION SENSOR PFP:23731Component Description Exhaust valve timing control position sensor detects the concavegroove of the exhaust camshaft rear end. This sensor signal is used for sensing a position of the exhaust cam-shaft.This sensor uses a Hall IC.Based on the position of the exhaust camshaft, ECM controlsexhaust valve timing control magnet retarder to optimize the shut/open timing of exhaust valve for the driving condition. There's a problem with the cam sensor or there's a chip installed in your ECM . These need to be checked next . Most common is a faulty cam sensor . Hoped this helped. "
