Anyone know the proper procedure for removing the two drip molding strips on the roof of the coupe? The plastics looking a little worn against the obsidian black, was hoping to refinish it, but I didn't want to just start yanking pieces out and brake em. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Much appreciated my friend, looks like I'll refrain from pulling em off seeing as how I don't have any adhesive or double-sided tape prepared.
Just use a 3M black tape...kind of like the 3M di-noc stuff but in a roll like electrical tape.

There's no magic to removing the roof moulding/drip rail...at least for the coupe, but I'm sure it's the same for a sedan. I currently have an '03 coupe with a gloss black vinyl overlay on the roof. It's definitely showing signs of age and will soon be replaced. The company that originally did it did an absolutely ****-poor job so now I'm in the process of figuring out how to do it myself. I know there's a million videos out there of wrapping but that's not what I'm concerned with. Making it as absolutely neat and professional looking as possible is what I'm after.
With that being said (and looking at how the previous install was done...or not done in this case), I know I want the vinyl tucked under the moulding strips as well as under the upper windshield moulding. So I needed to figure out how to get them off and what exactly was holding them on. That lead me to this thread and there seemed to be no definitive answer ever given here or on any other site that I could find.
After playing with the moulding for a bit, I realized that it could slide a little in the track. This led me to believe that there was no adhesive tape holding it on (and if there was then it was long since ineffective) so it must be some sort of clips. I took a small flat-blade screwdriver just to see if I could pop it up close to the rear glass and PRESTO...it popped up. A little clip close to the back glass and another close to the front glass. THAT"S IT. No tape...just a ton of dirt and grime!
So there ya have it. The only took needed is just a little flat-blade screwdriver and your own two hands. They pop right off and snap right back in whenever you're done doing whatever it is that you're doing.
Hope this helps someone!

Good to know! Should be pretty easy to pop it off, paint it or wrap it in vinyl, then pop it back on. Or, pop it off when painting or putting vinyl on the roof.
Good to know, thanks!
