Hello all, first post here, probably won't be my last..

Please see attached video, turn your speakers up to listen to the noise. It started getting really loud today, previously I just thought it was a normal VQ engine noise

I've also noticed what I thought was simply suspension noises that kind of resemble engine knocking noises when revving in neutral, and I get a backfire sometimes as well.

Could this be to do with the drive belts? Connecting rods? Exhaust?

I used my stethoscope and heard a massive amount of knocking/clicking from the spark plug on cylinder #1, could it be just a misfire?

The sound you will hear is when I am holding revs between 2.5-3.5k, however when accelerating it can be slightly heard through the entire power band.
Oddly enough, I don't feel any loss in power.

 

Having the same issue on my wife's 2007 coupe. Any luck finding a cause?

 

Turns out I have piston slap due to the last owner running the engine dry.

As you know our engines consume oil like a mother
And now I am re-building her next week. Forged everythang.

Check your oil, you may be running dry. Good luck man.
