AT 5th gear bypass?

As of right now my fifth gear is slipping, so I've been driving it like that for about a year now.

The car just feels so sluggish in MM. Shifts too fast, and doesn't down shift unless a great amount of throttle is applied and I don't like using the gear selector.

Is there anyway to bypass fifth gear on this transmission? I'd love to drive it in D where the throttle response is so much better.

I'd love to see a wiring diagram for the tcu which I haven't been able to find .

Thanks in advance.

Why not just diagnose and fix?

Because 5th gear isn't worth the cash to fix.

5th gear is a high speed gear. Mostly to be a bit more conservative on gas on highways.

EDIT: Rest of this is ratarded

I was coming to reply to you, but to see you are so nice to members of a 9 year old out of retail sale platform you are going to have to search for yourself here.

Who the F is this guy?

He has to be trolling.

There's a way to do it with Uprev (if you know what that is, *****) but I don't want to help you much more.

So! You get the generic response; buy a new transmission, buddy.

fifth gear kicks in at 40 mph. You can be as mechanically inclined as you want, but you'd be an idiot driving around town in a 4th gear over 40mph. So 5th gear is very much worth to fix considering the amount of money you will shell out on fuel (hello 9 mpg) plus running the risk of overheating and damaging the rest of your transmission.

Yes you are correct. But at 70mph in 4th gear my Rpms are sitting right around 2800 which is realitevly low to really have any ill effects unlike it would on gas. I'm averaging around 20mpg.

I'm not dropping a g for a transmission, when I wouldn't even use 5th gear even if it were functional.

Where are the true g guys at? I don't want to hear from the brainless who only know offsets.
Actually, a lot of us guys here would take performance over looks any day. Did you even look at my previous posts or mod lists? Doubt it. You can learn a lot about someone that way before jumping to conclusions that make you seem idiotic.

"Less slower" wtf? What ARE you ON?

So you drive a G but haven't realized that the transmission is nearly always in 5th gear even at speeds less than 30 MPH?

I said uprev not revup but what does it matter, you're going to never come back to G driver by the end of the day with this attitude you have been "fronting". And there are more differences than what you tried to list but let's not get into that.

https://uprev.com/secure/

A used transmission does not cost $1000 or a "g" in your language.

The true G guys are here... But you've already F'd yourself out of help from them.

So if you want to keep going, I'm here at my desk getting paid to argue with you. I think I'll grab another coffee.

ill be the uninformed noob to ask this question. I've only been in 5th gear after 100mph and you guys are talking about being in 5th gear at 40 mph.... even when I switch it from drive to manumatic its goes to 4th gear sometimes 3rd at that speed.
