Low Idle, Speedometer reading wrong and No manual mode after cluster removal

I recently purchased an 2005 Infiniti G35x. It was a trade in and the person trading it in didn't tell the dealer the fuel gauge was reading wrong. Car died on me because I thought I had 1/4 tank. I had it towed to the dealer and they told me it was out of gas / no fuel pressure.

There were also problems with the odometer and left turn signal. It was under warranty at the dealer. They sent the cluster for repair. It fixed the turn signal and odometer back light problem but not the fuel gauge. They found it was the fuel level sensor. Now waiting on the part.

Picked the car up and now the engine is idling low, around 400rpm and when I accelerate and let off the gas it feels like it is engine braking and not coasting like it use to before they pulled the cluster. I'm guessing the throttle position is wrong and might need relearning?

The speedometer is reading 10km/s faster then actual speed. I used a GPS to compare. Also I lost the ability to switch to manual mode.

Any ideas what might be wrong? Do certain resets need to be done after pulling the cluster? Why would I lose manual mode? Would you take it to an Infiniti dealer instead?

Thanks
Mike

Sounds like limp mode? Try the ECU reset procedure found online.

Thanks. Can the ECU reset make anything worst? Do I have to do the idle air learn afterwards?
