2007 G35 Tiptronic or Manumatic Issue

Hey everyone,

I've been having issues with my tiptronic or manumatic mode on my 2007 G35 Coupe. After leaving my car parked over night when I leave in the morning my manumatic mode works. I shift it over and it shows that im in first gear from a stop. The issue however is after i turn the car off, and park it for as little as 10 minutes, when i come back the manumatic function no longer will work. Ill put the car in manual mode and the dash will display "D". Even if i restart the car and again attempt to put the car in manual mode it will still display "D".

If I leave the car for an extended amount of time, for example 8 hours, I can almost be certain my manumatic mode will work.

Basically at this point i get to use my manumatic mode only first drive of the day and maybe after work if the car has been sitting for long enough.

Has anyine dealt with this issue? Or maybe any similar issue? Any advise?

Thanks.

I just purchased the car last week. So ill definitely take a look at the fluid. Other than the fluid there is no engine light or any ither apparent tranny issues. The car is currently at 124xxxkms

No. When the dash says D it is fully in automatic drive. Even when the gear shifter is in the manumatic position.

Any word on what the problem was? Having the same problem after jumping my buddy's car that had a dead battery. What did you find out?

A mechanic told me I needed to replace the shifter assembly. He said it was an issue with the circuit board under the shifter. He said he pulled a code.
