Hi everyone, I’m new to the forums here and I’m curious of my car’s cruise control. I have a 2008 G35x and I’m wondering if the cruise control detects cars infront of me as well. I am asking this question just in case so that I don’t just try it and smash into another car while testing it, thinking that it will slow down for me when there is a car in front of me. I’m asking this question because although it helps me set a certain speed while I drive, I don’t know if it detects cars in front of me because it is a 2008 car. Any information is appreciated! Thanks everyone.
If your steering wheel buttons look like the first pic below then you have a standard cruise with no forward sensing ability. If you have the extra button shown in pic #2 then you have the Intelligent Cruise Control and there is an entire Factory Service Manual that deals with that right here: https://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35/Sedan/2008/CCS.pdf
