Steering Position Sensor

This question does not relate to the Clockspring assembly but the black 3 legged flat plate sensor behind that.
I have seen all the suggestions , videos etc about getting the clockspring rotation centered before fitting it.This has 4.5 turns in total and a new one is temporarily locked in place from the factory.
But the second sensor only fitted to cars with VDC ( like my 05 G35 Coupe ) can be rotated continuously and fitted in any position as long as the two drive tabs are aligned.
Anyone seen any instructions on maybe measuring the position via the output wires , or is this simply not needed at all.

Well, here's a handy vid of the entire operation - it's even an '05:
I believe that steering angle sensor can only be installed one way as the video guy says: "two lugs - two slots".
Hope that helps.
