Temperature all the way up but no hot air
Temperature all the way up but no hot air
I have my ac compressor unplugged from doing my engine swap because the new compressors sensor doesn’t match the plug. would this stop the car from also blowing hot air?
Nope, if your engine is at operating temp and you have no hot air blowing from the AC then you have air trapped in the coolant system.
Primary reasons for this are not opening the purge valve to release air from the heater core hose, and adding coolant too fast. Add coolant at a rate of no more than 1 gallon per minute, that's a pretty slow pour.
When idling the car up to normal operating temp turn the AC controller to MAX HEAT and HIGHEST FAN SPEED, this will ensure the heater core is wide open and the valve isn't throttled back.
After the car has idled up to normal operating temp for the first time I like to blast down the road at WOT in first gear then SLAM on the brakes almost to the point of engaging the ABS. This will throw the weight of the coolant forward and displace any remaining air.
