weird hesitation.

kinda hard to tell in video but it pulls hard then feels like a soft rev limit until it reaches short shift point into second gear then problem goes away. only does it in first. I have checked my intake tube for leaks and also tried another intake tube. no known vacuum leaks

early 2005 g35x.

cel is for fuel level circuit a

I'd check for realtime data on the cam advance.

You checked your oil level lately? If you're losing pressure then you aren't getting the target cam advance and thus losing your high end power.

I would also check realtime data on APP % to make sure your APP isn't failing and not actually going WOT, you should be revving all the way to redline in 1st if you're actually WOT and not shifting early like that.

I have checked the app based off of a link that I had found checking voltage and pins and multiple points and it all was within acceptable limits.

oil level is good

i would like to reiterate that it only does that in first gear if that matters

That makes me think that maybe there's a TCM issue since it's not even holding to the proper shift point.

Clean up the TCM ground first, it's located on the timing chain cover, at the very top, right in the middle. There are two wires landed on green colored bolts, one is the TCM ground. Disconnect, wire brush the bolt, the lug, and the mating surface on the timing chain cover. Apply a light coat of electrical anti-oxidation grease, bolt it back together.

There is also a bonding jumper from the right side of the timing chain cover that lands on the chassis directly below the coolant reservoir with a 2-hole lug, this is a larger gauge wire. Remove the single 10mm bolt from the reservoir, lift it straight up (leave the hose attached, there's enough slack if you unclip it from the little hose retainer on the reservoir side). Brush and clean this connection too, also hit the battery negative which lands on the chassis next to the battery with a 2-hole lug just like that engine-chassis bonding jumper.

There's a lot of little electrical gremlin problems that these cars acquire as those ground connections age/oxidize, transmission shift/performance issues are definitely on that list.

Alright got those cleaned up. They were definitely dirty but nothing changed

I also noticed that the manual mode is only working intermittently. Idk if it’s related or not
