My brake warranty is up, and I don't want Infiniti brake pads anymore because of all the dust. Anyone have a shop & pads they recommend?

 

Pads are easy enough to change yourself. If not it's a pretty simple change for any brake shop. I haven't killed my pads yet, but I'm planning on changing out to Hawk HPS pads when they do die (pads are sitting in my house already).

 

DIY, or bring'em my house along with a case of Heinis, light please

 

Just a warning: HPS pads are great but noisy when warm.

I really appreciate the feedback guys, thanks again. Infiniti wants about $700 to replace two rotors, resurface two, and replace four pads.

I dunno, but it sounds a little too advanced for my garage. What do you guys think? If was just the pads, would be doable. But considering I gotta do the rotors too, I don't think Heinekin light is gonna cut it...

I'm surprised they only quoted you $700. The cost to replace two rotors and 4 pads is starting to get up there without even looking at the work to resurface two rotors and to replace everything.

 

shet, i like bring my car your house too when i do my brakes. haha. i bring 2 case heinis. tink i gotta replace rotors soon..def pads though.

^ dealeos mang. yeah, i prolly gonna order my mu's soon. tryin' to decide on whether i should pick up two piece fronts and one piece rears....just the two piece fronts and resurface the rears... or one piece all around. kinda hate spending money on my G now..but this is sorta a necessity.

 

I can cut rotors too, we just have to take a drive to my Dad's shop.

 

I remember Jason telling me that he hooked up one of his customers with x-drilled (or was it slotted) rotors too to make it worth the price.

 

Ok, so what rotors and what pads should I get then? Esp if I go DIY? And where do I pick these up, online? Sorry, I know, plenny questions...but I figure you guys in the know must know, you know?

 

buy online, bad side of it is shipping. the cheapest performance rotors I've seen is made by Rotora and Disc Brakes Australia. I like dba because they have heat gauges on them...they change color due to heat, and that a lot of auto-x guys like them. stoptech make some nice pieces too, they offer oem replacements in both slotted and x-drilled. Their more expensive line is the 2pc. aero rotors...the cost a bit in the beginning but the replacement rotors cost around the same as the oem replacements.
