Hiking should be out of the questing unless you dont mind carrying them the whole hike. I have friends with kids (3yrs and younger) who've visited Oahu, saying they wanna go do a hike. So we go, and they've absolutely regretted hiking idea. Dont get me wrong, the views are breath taking all the while making it seem a worth while experience, then they're faced with going back down the hike. In the end, it's all up to you.

If you want to get the full experience of diamond in the ruff places to eat, check out my friends website.

Ask for Keira, tell her Chris Billete referred you, she's a highschool friend of mines.

But I'm sure people on here will chime on here on their ideal places to eat.
I always recommend Boot's and Kimo's, Zippy's, Anna Millers. But the real joy comes from eating the foods different ethnic backgrounds. Anything from Brazilian to Thai. If you check out McCully Shopping, you'll find an abundance of different ethnic places to eat. Along Kapahulu Ave (right outside of Waikiki) has a lot of different places to eat. One of my favorite places to eat is Tokkuri Tei, it's a really small place but a happy hour favorite with good food and good beer, and still kid friendly.

For the kids, the closest thing to a themed park is Wet'n Wild Water park in Kapolei. and the Dole Maze in Wahiawa. You can also check out the exhibits at the Maritime Marine Center, Air Museum and, Bishop Museum. And Make reservations to the Polynesion Cultural Center to watch "Ha" (pronounced: haw). The night show comes with a Luau. Plan to be there the whole day because their's a lot of activities and exhibits to see and do. Then there's the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, and Sea Life Park. All to surely entertain you and your kids. Shave Ice IS a must for every visitor. Most visitors hear about Matsumotos, they're good...they have a lot of novelty items. but their shave ice is...ehhh, alright...by far not the best on our island. their novelty and presence makes up for it. For good shave ice, there's a couple..one is called Waiola and the other is Shimazu. Your kids will enjoy any of them. And Im pretty sure the everyone on the Hawaii forum will tell you, you have to go to one of the shrimp shacks in the northern part of the island.

Shopping: you're sure bets are all in Ala Moana. Pearl Ridge shopping center has pretty much the same things as Ala Moana, but if you want to see the difference in urban wildlife...it's a little different there, same goes with Kahala Mall. Waikele Shopping Center's have your typical Outlets. There's some pretty cool things in the International Marketplace and Royal Hawaiian Shopping center in Waikiki too. Lots of High End stuff in Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. The nightlife in Waikiki is also another thing to watch, almost Cirque Du Soleil-like. Which brings to Cirque Hawaii, a pretty intriguing show.

Trying to keep it kid friendly, hope this helps.
