Freakin' POTHOLES!
I got into beef with a pothole on the freeway and the bastard bent 2 of my rims! Damn, I didnt notice until I took off the wheels the yesterday to lower the car more. The bend is on the inside part of the rims. Cant even tell when they are mounted. Anyway, anyone know a good place to repair them? Cost? Also, can anyone suggest a good camber kit to buy? Not really lookin' for top of the line stuff, just decent and affordable, now that I gotta fix the rims. Peace - Bobby
for the rears:
spc would probably be the most cost effective and does the job right. if you go on ebay, you can get the full rear (rear camber arm and toe bolts) for like 240 bucks shipped. I got mine. Just never had time to install it. If not
kinetix, or stillen might be a good alternative...but might be a little more pricey.
As for the front:
The kinetix front a arm seems to offer the best correction in camber for the front for the money...however offers the most noise, and just doesn't look right, IMO. I think its priced around 369 bucks.
Your next best bet would be the 350evo arms which cost an arm, and a leg, and a torso ($849) offers the best front camber correction with minimal noise.
The cusco at around 400 bucks only offers 4mm of positive camber correction which equates to .25 degrees of positive camber....or something like that (someone correct me 'cause I'm a little drunk...buuurrrrrrrp). The
stillen offers the same amount of correction as the cusco I believe. I think the cusco and stillen were meant more for adding negative camber for better performance, rather than positive camber correction.
anyone please add or correct the above. i'm gonna go nappy nap now. bu bye.

For the rims... Freddy's on Queen Street(enter from Ward Street, should be on your right hand side a lilttle past that corvette shop) should be able to do the job... They are the only rims repair on this island that does rims for 18" and bigger... I too bent my aftermarket rims on my TL to the point where you were able to stick your hand in between the rim and the wheels and reach the other side... DANG!!! He usually charges 100 to 200 and rim... depending on how bad the damage is... Look for Clyde 596-8315... that place is only open from 6pm and later...

haha, yeah, he's prolly one of the best one. ...and depending on how busy he is, it can take a while. He had my rim for like almost a year. He'd try to finish easier rims before mine...my rim was pretty fawked though.
hehe, kept calling him freddy...."can speak to freddy".
i dunno, i think i read from some other forum (forumshawaii.net?) that if you can document exactly where (what street, etc.) you got damage from the pothole, and have pictures to prove it, the State/C&C can reimburse you for up to a certain amt. i read that people who get tires blown out b/c of this can get some kind of restitution or whatevers. use your cameraphone to take pix on the spot tho, and call KHON2 Action Line.
i posted this earlier:

I got my paperwork and receipts all ready....although, the damn city and county friggin patched the hole that damaged my rim(s). I hit another pothole on the opposite side of the street, in the same exact location. Yet, they patch all these potholes and a good week of rain will only loosen the asphalt again.
The paperwork is to be filled out in triplicate along with all repairs and/or purchases.

Hey Black-three-fitty, was yours damaged at the pearlridge on-ramp to H1? How much is the state giving you? Is it worth all the trouble? Like i said, freakin potholes. The damage to mine looks minimal. I'll give freddy a call later to see if he'll try it..i mean clyde. Hey beangrower, lemme know how yours turns out wen you install. Seems like the way to go for rear camber. You gonna do it yourself?

from what Ive heard from a friend today, if you have the money, he can finish it quick. Other than that, you'll be waiting a while especially a lot of potholes nowdays. Sooner you get it in, the better.
The hole I hit was right down the road from my house, near the Waiau firestation, kinda behind RC's backyard on Kaahumanu St. They recently repave a portion of the intersection due to a water main break. Down the road a little were these massive potholes. It couldve been avoided but since I leave for work at the crack of dawn <with pakapiapia in da eyes>, cant see too good in the morning.
