kinda off topic, but the dip stick in our VQ sux donkey *****! i'm wonderin if the Z-tube improves clearance any?...
James, hope they eventually find out why your engine loses/burns excess oil

I AGREE!! The dip stick is the cheapest, most poorly designed piece of garbage ever!! come on..its a luxury car....a civic dip stick is probably better than the piece of crap i got under the hood....

you guys must not work a lot with cars. I've seen worse dip stick situations.

What kinds of mods do you have on the car??? Can you post it up??

I'm not in Hawaii but I had the exact same problem as you do. I dealt with it for about a year going back and forth with infiniti and they tried the same approach with me because I had test pipes. They tried to blame it on that but in the end the engine blew and they replaced it under warranty. How was your break in period?

I bought mine used, the previous owner was a lady so I'm assuming she drove it pretty easy. Well, I broke the new engine in with twin turbo's and a lead foot so after 5000 miles it seems like those rings sealed up pretty well.

next step is to get a lawyer and let them know you are serious, cats will not cause you to start consuming oil.

mods: JWT INTAKE, CRAWFORD PLENUM, TEST PIPES, Y-PIPE, RSR EXHAUST,
thats it, and i was totally easy on it durning breakin, like not over 3000rpm the first 1000 miles. there just asses, there are score markes on the cylinder walls from the unseated rings, i have the pics, its obvious to see what the prob is but they are just looking for something to blame on me.

Man I am sorry to hear that. I agree that the guys at IoH are tools. I haven't had any problems with them on the service side, but they just make me really uneasy.

Best of luck getting your problem resolved (unfortunately it looks like it's time for legal action).
