My engine has about 26k on it, and thank god I haven't had any problems. Your car might just be a lemon and fall under the lemon law. I'm in California and the Lemon Law in this state is if the car has a major failure 3 times, you are entitled to a new car.

Good Luck!

i think i was there when you were at infiniti. i was at the parts dept ordering my a/c line at around 430ish. i was over hearing someone talk about a jacked up stereo or something like that. or maybe it wasn't you.

Took my coupe in for some sort of chatter when cold. Infiniti said I had about 2.5 quarts of oil in it. WTH!? I changed the oil about 3k miles prior with royal purple synthetic and a wix filter. I drive it aggressively on occassion but nothing too crazy for a 6spd sport coupe. Fortunately the check oil light hadn't been on yet.

Anyway, I'm having infiniti complete a full scrub/flush of the motor and refill with synthetic blend and a nissan filter.

Anyone else have this happen?

kinda off topic, but the dip stick in our VQ sux donkey *****! i'm wonderin if the Z-tube improves clearance any?...
James, hope they eventually find out why your engine loses/burns excess oil

approaching 19k on mine and no oil problems yet. I did a change a 3k and then I switched to Mobil1 at 5k and do a change every 5k using a Mobil1 filter.

I only checked the oil level a couple of times, but it's to dang hard. even if you wipe the stick you can't read the fricken thing cause it's all smeared with oil. When I do my change it fills up the recycle box, so I'm assuming that I've still got 5qts in there.

btw grizzly our car takes 5qts.
