I dropped off my G at Kona Trans yesterday with a tear in my eye. She gets shipped out on Friday on Horizon out of Kawaihae to Long Beach then onto Ohio. Went with DAS and she will be covered all the way there...$2600 terminal to door and includes $20K insurance coverage. This is the shipping company ebay motors and classic car shows primarily use to ship cars worldwide.....

Now I'm driving a red Chevy Cavalier from Alamo. Talk about some low-end torque....

Anyway, I just need a hug......

I meet up with her again in early August......

i wish you the best of luck. i'm sure your whip will be fine. if not, just give them the 808 strongarm ahm bah (arm bar) lol. i feel sorry about the cavalier deal. i had to rent that once. i took it to tracks though!!

hey... a cavalier ain't that bad compared to the echo that they gave me... I had to trade it for the impreza wagon.. which I'm still sportin' now... it's for my delsol... still in the shop...

I officially leave my Kaiser post on July 30th. I work that saturday morning and leave saturday night.....lol.

I am renting a Dodge Charger from Dollar when I get to oHio though.... I am looking forward to that! Dollar replaced their taurus's and intrepid's with new Charger's...woohoo.

They (kona trans) looked over my G for existing scratches, rim scrapes, etc. and had me sign the pre-shipping damage report which BTW showed NO damage whatsoever. I think she was in awe of seeing such a pretty car (being there are only a handful of coupes on the BI).

Then, when I get the car, I look over for damage and can claim if I see anything that wasn't there or "reported" on the pre-ship evaluation. I took a $20K insurance policy with DAS just in case of body damage during shipping. The insurance policy for $20K was only an additional $200, well worth it I think.....

Well worth the extra $200 for shipping the pride and joy.... Hope it makes it to the destination in mint condition. Aloha.

cavaliers, didn't they discontinue that and replace it with the "almost-as-ugly" Cobalt? hey, at least you didn't get stuck with a kia spectra! (i couldn't rent the G35 when I was in San Diego last month - sold out.)

just wondering, though... couldn't you upgrade (for free) to a bigger car or did they not have any? anyways, good luck!

 

Ooo Charger... that sounds like a fun rental... Too bad the rental companies are gonna basically flood the market with them...
