I stayed in Waikiki when I went in early January. Was my 1st time there, stayed at the Outrigger. Was a decent price, and was on the beach. Which was awesome. Waikiki is where ALL the tourists are! But then again, I wanted to do all the tourist stuff. Did the Luau, yeah if it's your 1st time there, I would recommend it. But nothing I would do again. Price was like $150 I think for two people. Snorkeling was awesome at Hanamau (<- spell check) bay...the view was nothing that I've seen ever before. Checked out Pearl Harbor, walked a crap load. Hmmm....what else did I do? Oh...ate the local food, some place called Ono's. I think it's like 10 mins or so away from Waikiki beach. Chilled on the beach, dude I swear though....everyone there...well from the mom and pop stores try to rip you off, since they know your a tourists. I bought beer at some small whole in the wall place near the beach, and you can't drink on the beach. Then the lady was like..."Oh you want some cups to pour the beer into?" I was like dang....how nice...sure....then she was like "25 cents" per cup. Hmmm....I don't mind paying only 25 cents, but I didn't want to brown bag it either. And I went shopping to some place called the international marketplace. Kind of like a mini swap meet type place. And man....do they try to bargain with you like crazy. One guy said "X" amount of dollars for an item. Went to another vender for the same item, and they wanted more for the same thing. When I said that another guy offered the same thing...she dropped her price too! Then again, they are just trying to make a living.....But I had fun though! Would definetly go back again!
