My 2006 G35 w/ about 1600 miles is emitting a faint yet clearly discernable ticking sound after being driven hard. This sound is noticeable when it is idling and I stand outside the vehicle.

I have heard that this ticking might be the result of the z-tube/pop charger combo I installed last week.

Could it be more serious. I ask because I am installing my MREV2 and 5/16 spacer tomorrow and I would prefer to take my car to the dealer before installing the plennum and spacer.

Also, I have been told to do an oil-consumption test (up to 8k) before installing the MREV.

Any insights? I think I will maybe wait an extra day to install the MREV to wait for feedback from the knowledgeable people here.
