noob question.z-tube? popcharger? what?

what is a z-tube?

what is a popcharger?

how much will each cost?

and will either of the two void my warranty?

"The stock G35 pipe has sound baffles and other features that the Z tube does not have. The Z tube will increase induction noise under WOT." - everythingg35.com

so since the stock g35 pip has "other features that the z tube does not have," then why would anyone want a z tube?

sorry for the noob question. i tried a search but there really isnt an explantion of what either is b/c apparently everyone but me know what each is! lol oh and what are the advantages/disadvantages of each? thanks guys!

A Z tube just replaces the tube that the G35 airbox connects to. Its the same thing as the "G tube" , but it has a wider diameter. So it will allow more air in and make your car sound more aggresive. A Pop Charger is just an intake which connects to the Z-tube or G tube. If you get an intake, getting a Z tube is a must (well not really, but it makes more sence to get it)... I hate repeating the warranty crap, so just search up the subject and youll get alot more info

will *just* getting a z-tube still give me a more "aggressive" sound?

youll get a better agressive sound when combining both. Personally, I prefer the Z tube with the Stillen Intake rather than the Z-Tube/ Pro Charger. Itll cost you about 100 more though.

Trust me just search this subject, I think its one of the most common subjects out there. Youll find your answer.

oh i def found tons of threads about the ztube. its just that none of them answered my initial question of what it is.

anyway, how difficult do you guys think it would be to install just a ztube? keep in mind that i am a noob (but im not an idiot..) is it a project that can be done by a noob like me?

well that sounds easy enough.

okay. so what combo do you guys suggest?

ztube + k&n drop in
or
ztube + popcharger

(not looking for performace increase b/c i doubt i will even feel an increase in power..i just want it to sound a little more aggressive while saving as much $$ as i can)

^^^You get to have more growl with popcharger. I tried both of them. Performance increase is marginal.

What kind of G you got?

if u got the cash go for the stillen. It is little bit quieter than the pop charger but it has a better heat shield.

Stillen + ztube for $235, best price I've found.

Pop charger has heating issues, go stillen.
