What high flow cats and Stock exhaust?

I've heard the Helix hfc with the stock exhaust and it sounded pretty mean...Anybody have this setup or any other suggestions/clips of another combination? I see those FI hfc in the group buy and they look tempting...Thanks in advance

Do you really need HFC? Those Fast Intentions resonated TestPipes look pretty phucking good. I have had the Kinetix TP for over a year and the power increase was immediate and indisputable. By all means, go resonated TP. You can always re-install your stock cats at smog check time.

Well the reason i wanted HF cats was because i wanted to avoid the rasp that everyone complains about with the test pipes, resonated or not...But by all means, ballisticus, if you can provide maybe a short vid or sound byte with the test pipe/stock combination that'd be sick.

Make sure you hear a clip of a system with HF AND a stock cat-back. I recently went through this with my sedan, installed just test pipes with the stock cat-back. The stock cat-back could not handle the flow causing all kinds of vibrations. Most were from the stock exhaust's flex pipe ballooning, the threads were bouncing off of each other sounding horrible. I removed them and have since re-installed with a HF dual cat-back and all the rattles (and flex pipe) are gone.

Thanks Machavez, def something to consider...I was under the impression that the link from the Sticky on the top of the page had a Stock exhaust with HF cats clip, which made me indecisive upon what i want to do with my exhaust system.

Also with test pipes you'll get that lovely smell of unburnt gas. Ah yes........ those were the days. If the smell doesn't bother you, go test pipes with a free flowing exhaust otherwise you'll get what Machavez and I had one time. All the rasp is due to the combo of HFC's/test pies to exhaust combo. Research and you'll do fine if you keep that in mind.
