have a z and want to take out the z tube

I have a totalled z in my garage and i want to take the tube out and put it in my g coupe.

2 questions:

1) oncethe insurance pays me, they will take the Z. I have no idea what a z tube is, but if they turn on the car ( I think the engine is still operable) will they notice something is wrong, and will they be able to attribute it to me removing the part?

2) where do I find it and will it be hard for me to take out?

Are your G and Z MT's or AT's?

OK - reason for asking was that if the G was an AT you could swap out the pumpkins and give yourself gears too!!
