pop charger cleaning

i jusdt finished cleaning the jwt popcharger i got from gdude. i started with simple green diluted half with water but it didnt do that much, so i used the K & N recharger kit and it worked great. just wondering, is the popcharger supposed to be an off-white color when im done cleaning??? does it matter if some of hte grime isnt coming off on the edges of the pop charger??? has anyone used the k & n oil, does it give the popcharger a red tint? im just curious, i dont mind.

should finish installing my z-tube and pop-charger today, ill post pictures when im done =)

yes, if you use the K&N oil it will have a red tint, be sure not to over-oil it, too much is not good, you don't need much

did you let the filter soak in the cleaner before you rinsed it off?

Yes. The cotton gauze is white when new but you can never get it all way white when cleaning. I wouldn't recommend using anything but the K&N cleaner. You DON'T want to deteriorate the guaze in any way by using the wrong cleaning agent.
Because it sounds like you are a newbie at this, I'll try to give some advice to the cleaning. Rinsing off the filter. In to out ONLY. And no strong streams of water. Tap pressure is plenty. Allow it to dry overnight if possible. When oiling the filter, spray it like paint. ONE pass for each section. Let it sit for a few min and then spritz in areas that aren't covered 100%. DO NOT OVER DO IT. Overoiling will coat the maf sensor with oil and then you have to clean the maf
