Injen Intake
I just got of the phone with a gentlemen at Injen Tech. He said that in about a month or 2 the cold air intake will be avaliable for the G35. The are expecting about 5-7hp out of it, with a selling price of $350.00. Seems a little high to me but I quess some people will pay it. I think that it kind of sucks that nismo does not make a cold air intake for the cars just a drop in filter. But there website is www.injen.com.

Re: Injen Intake
Don't do it. They are making the same kit for the coupe and for the sedan with no changes. I spoke to them the other day, and they seem to be without the simple knowledge that the mass air sensors are different for the cars, and they will inflict the kit on unsuspecting retail customers, rather than doing the proper amount of testing on other cars.
Injen's kit has been "developed" by testing one car, the owner of Injens car.
These sedans, don't all run the same, and by testing on only one car, they find out only what will happen when one car is fitted, rather than several cars..
K&N had tested 5 different sedan before they finally proved that their design would be the most effective for all G35 sedans. K&N also will have C.A.R.B. approval.
When a company is in a rush to get an intake kit into the market before others, they often will come out with revisions (rev.1, rev. 2 etc.). If you believe it is okay to buy a product made by a company that you have either never heard of, or that you may never hear of again, you need to make that decision.
I will go with the company that has over 30 years of automotive and motorsports experience.
Don't be a beta tester for a product that you pay for, I haven't, neither should you.....
I will have more detail regarding pricing, installation, and all specs I can provide within the next 4-6 weeks.....

Re: Injen Intake
If you read my original post for the K & N Dyno, I whole heartedly agree. I had my coupe down to K & N for testing so if they had 5 total, mine was one of them. They got between 5 & 8 just from the OEM fit K & N filter I put in my coupe (Dyno's scanned & posted to prove). They tested the prototype CAI they were custom making for coupes as well as the factory paper filter & the OEM fit K & N filter.
Worth the wait.

Re: Injen Intake
The Injen CAI is already on sale @Modarcar in Pleasanton- don't know delivery dates. I have used Injen Short Ram and CAIs in many engine builds-Hondas/Toyotas. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. The fit & finish are excellent and they perform beautifully. They tend to look good too. They also provide a K&N filter to use with the kit. The part about keeping the air cold as it enters the intake...well a big metal pipe thens to heatup a bit more then plastic once the engine sits in traffic. There are ways around that problem but it makes the CAI ugly...think:function over form. The colder the air the more dense the mixture. CAIs can ingest water if they are set too low or exposed to possible water slosh from flooded roadways. Always use a baffle such as AEMs-they are sold seperately and can be used with any CAi as long as pipe dia. is the same. Just wanted to give a little different perspective.

They have a CAI for the 350Z, so it may carry over.
Injen is one of the more reputable companies in the market, along with AEM. The reason it costs so much is you're really paying for extra mandrel bent 6061-T6 aluminum pipe.
The metal pipe will produce more rumbling intake noise...some like that noise, others don't. It will pick up a litte radiant heat also...but at the flow rates, it's not too much.

I'm from San Jose. I called and the guy said it would out soon but he had no date. He said to check their(Ingen's Site) company info. He also confirmed that it would be similar to Stillen's-in look. Were you from OvaYahead-will I see you at any Bay Area Meets?

Re: Injen Intake
IQ9 i was at the last meet with my wife. My sisters bf came a long to with my sisters 350Z. Were you there?
Ya I checked out modacar today, they didn't have the intake in stock. they reffered me to the ingen site too, the guy there didn't think the 350z one would fit. There's not listing for the g35 either. so i guess i'm SOL for now. I was going to have this one place custome make mine, not going to mention company name, but they were a bit flaky. I didn't want someone testing a product on my car anyways. better there's then mine.
I'll see you at the next meet.
