The big difference with the Crawford headers (over the competition) is not that they are equal-length (as others are as well), but that they are long-tube headers. Crawford offers the only long-tube headers for the G, which is why they have a higher peak-gain over many of the others and why the engine needs to be raised to install them.

Quote: crawford's are longer, topspeed, pro-1, dc, strup, and a few others are equal length (as opposed to borla).
that's what i thought was understood from my previous quote.

gt-ron... agreed. that advantage is a big one... definitely the reason they stand out.

Ok, so is the peak power the only performance advantage they have worthy of the price jump? I don't want to pay a big premium if the only advantage I get is a few HP improvement at a certain RPM and for most of the rest of the RPM band it's pretty much the same, especially given the install process.

Is there going to be much of a difference in gain (on dyno, buttdyno, and times) - sound aside - between 5/16", intake, exhaust, and header vs. 5/16", intake, exhaust, header, and HFC?

Typically - high flow cats will yield and additional 6-8HP and about the same in TQ with those mods.

Crawfords are the only True Equal Length header. The others try to come close, and do. But they are not true equal length, nor do they claim to be.

That's in addition to the other mods, correct?

Alright, and what kind of effect does it have on the power band? Is the improvement pretty evenly distributed, or are we talking mostly upper-RPM improvement or very peaky, what?

Pretty even all the way through the band - most power (1-2 hp) comes in from 5500 and up.

Quote: ive heard doing all the normal exhaust mods excluding the exhaust is a really good setup...supposedly the stock exhaust flows pretty good and adding in a TD or a larger pipe will cause a big low end power loss...99atlantic is running the I/H/HFC and says he has no power loss but all gain...anyone wanna shed some light on this...ive heard it many times and im in the process of purchasing a stock exhaust to try it out...
Let us know how this works. I'm in a sedan, but am considering headers, hi flow cats with stock cat back (also ecu later). Also possibly an HKS rear section (for sound) depending what the cats and header sound like on stock.
